2009

- Shionogi-GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals LLC, in collaboration with the European AIDS Treatment Group and the Drug Development Committee of the AIDS Treatment Activists Coalition, to revise inclusion criteria for Study ING112276, a dose-ranging study of the investigational integrase inhibitor S/GSK1349572 in antiretroviral therapy-naïve patients.
- FDA approves expanded use of Selzentry (maraviroc) tablets, in combination with other antiretroviral agents, to include adult patients with CCR5-tropic HIV-1 virus who are starting treatment for the first time (treatment-naïve).
- Master Licence agreement with Shire Pharmaceuticals Group plc for products containing lamivudine.
- Shionogi & Company, co-developer of the integrase inhibitor.

2010
- $2 million/2 year partnership with Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, primarily focus on Lesotho, Malawi and Swaziland. Support advocacy efforts to address policy barriers and support the prioritization of pediatric HIV care and treatment policies in other Foundation-supported countries, including Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
- $2 million/2 year partnership with TREAT Asia, Bangkok-based program of amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) to generate clinical evidence and develop strategies to support life-long pediatric care and help inform global treatment guidelines.
- Positive Action U.S. Southern Initiative selected organizations: Aid to Inmate Moms (Montgomery), Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition, Family Service of Greater Baton Rouge, Grace House (Jackson), Positive Impact (Atlanta), Southwest Louisiana AIDS Council, Union Mission's J.C. - The Not for Profit Price commitment for ARV portfolio to government and international procurement agencies, such as the Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and UNICEF, expands to 69 countries where 80% of all people with HIV live.

2011
- One year trial pilot with the Welvista HIV treatment access program, developed by the Heinz Family Philanthropies in response to a call for help from the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors to find ways to assist patients on AIDS Drug Assistance Program waiting lists and make enrollment simple for patients.


Positive Action for Children Fund

About
- First announced in July 2009.
- Builds upon the foundation of the long-standing Positive Action programme, established in 1992.
- Focuses on grants that pursue the 4 elements of the World Health Organization's strategic vision and comprehensive approach for addressing the mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
- 10 year programme to invest £50 million to support programmes focused on preventing HIV transmission from mother-to-child, as well as the health and well being of women, orphans and vulnerable children around the globe (at least 80% on sub-Saharan Africa).
